“Pushing the Boundaries on the MHM Dialogue”

by | Jun 2, 2017 | 0 comments

This last weekend was Menstrual Hygiene day, a global day of recognition aimed at educating, celebrating, and removing the stigma of MHM (menstrual hygiene management).

On that day a consultation group gathered – Organised by Dasra (in partnership with WaterAid India), RTI International, PATH, Zariya, Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) and Development Solutions – to talk about solutions for the MHM value chain. Topics ranged from normalizing menstruation, to the product landscape and waste management. All with a focus on making these solutions scalable and sustainable.

Our very own Myles Elledge was in attendance, representing our project and RTI International. He had this to add during the event.

“It is vital for us to recognize, talk about and address the challenge to integrate MHM into sanitation work. Our mothers, daughters, sisters and all women deserve privacy, access and dignity.”

– Myles Elledge, Senior Director, RTI.

Here is a link to the calls to action that were produced as part of the 29 May MHM workshop: http://d.pr/CE7slo (there is mention of our prototype on page 16)
